  1. Formulate pensions policies with regard to officers in state, provincial councils, and armed forces with subject to provisions of minutes on pensions and payment of various pensions and allowances.
  2. Functioning widows’ widowers’ and orphans’ pensions scheme with reference to widows’ widowers’ and orphans’ of public officers.
  3. Implement public service provident fund for officers who draw unpensionable monthly salary.
  4. Functioning local government service widows’ widowers’ and orphans’ pensions scheme for local government service officers widows’ widowers’ and orphans’.
  5. Coordinate and administrate payment of pensions at national, district and divisional level.
  6. Maintain a proper relationship with "civil society" led by pensioners’ associations.
