The 8th of October is designated to honour retired government employees. This day recognizes those who devoted their vibrant and dynamic youth to the advancement of the nation, celebrating them with great pride and profound respect.

The invaluable contributions of those who formed the backbone of the country's workforce must always be acknowledged. It is our duty as a department to guarantee a fulfilling retirement for them by addressing their social, economic, health, and spiritual needs, bestowing greatest honour upon retired government employees.
It is our primary obligation to ensure that pensioners receive their pension benefits on or before the 10th of each month. The Department of Pensions has effectively fulfilled this mission for more than fifty years.

The department has dedicated significant effort over the past few years to enhance the flagship public sector social security initiative, the "National Pension Scheme," elevating it to international standards through the implementation of digital technology strategies and innovative communication methods.

All benefit payment systems, including pensions, have been streamlined for greater simplicity.

We aim to enhance the process of pension receipt by leveraging digital systems at every stage. We also intend to implement comprehensive social security policies that encompass the informal sector, acknowledging the prevailing economic and social realities
